New patient appointments are usually scheduled between 9am and 3pm, as adequate time is needed for an initial assessment.
Braces / Appliance placement usually takes about one to one and a half hours including maintenance instructions etc.
Longer appointments (over 30 mins), which are few in number, are generally made between 9am and 3pm. This allows us to schedule as many patients as possible for short adjustment appointments after or before work or school, as most people have other important obligations during the day.
During treatment, we will endeavor to schedule your appointments around your work / school hours as much as possible. It will, however, be necessary to attend the practice between 9am and 3pm for some appointments.
Whilst braces are on, it will be necessary to have them adjusted every 6-8 weeks. Your orthodontist will make small changes to the archwires each visit to keep your treatment progressing well.
Your late arrival for appointments will unfairly affect other patients scheduled appointments. As we may not be able to squeeze into the time, it would be necessary for you to reschedule your appointment.
We would ask that you respect our time as we do yours, so please attend appointments on time and in unforeseen circumstances, reschedule your appointments by giving us at least 24 hours notice. Try to cancel only if absolutely necessary, as re-appointing can sometimes be difficult and can lead to postponed treatment time.
We are aware that some circumstance may arise and you will need to change your appointment. We will do our best to ensure that you are rescheduled as soon as possible, but this may mean that an after school appointment may need to be changed to a time during the day to avoid extending your treatment time.
