We understand that sometimes during treatment, it may be necessary to change Orthodontists in the event of moving. We are happy to welcome and continue treatment for new patients who have begun treatment elsewhere. This can involve a little additional planning.
We would request that you send or bring with you any records (photographs, Xrays and models) from your previous orthodontist. Also a detailed copy of any financial history will help us calculate the cost of continuing treatment.
The Australian Society of Orthodontists have supplied us with a formula for calculating the cost of treatment for transfer patients and this will be explained to you during your initial visit to our practice.
In the case where you have to leave our practice, we will help make the transition as easy as possible. Frequently we will know the orthodontist to recommend to you in the town or city to which you are moving. Alternatively, we have a national directory to refer to.
We suggest that once you have completed your move, you contact the new orthodontist as soon as possible, in order to avoid any additional delay in treatment.
We will also request that on making contact with your new orthodontist, you let us know to send on your records and relevant documents.
